Mission Experience – Mwaka Siakweenda

I was at a point where I felt nothing in my life was going right, or at least not as I hoped. I desperately needed an escape, time away from my usual life just to unwind, and as soon as i heard of a mission trip by IMPACT, I knew I needed to go. I thought I was just taking a breather from my stressful life, little did I know I was going to have an experience that would forever change my life.

Being somewhat shy, I feared that I’d be all by myself on mission – wasn’t I wrong, it turned out that I instead met the most wonderful people, some of whom are currently the closest friends I have to this day.

My Christian journey also took a turn in that place, I fell in love with sharing Jesus and nothing has given me as much joy and satisfaction as I got by being on mission. It was there, where I learnt that by sharing His word, God teaches you more of himself.

Being a missionary doesn’t make one better than others, but it certainly makes us walk with Jesus better. Being around people with the same goal, same mind and a onensss rooted in Christ allows us to experience Jesus in ways we wouldn’t have alone. I personally learnt that different people from different backgrounds, different characters, personalities and tempraments can come together and be so united they push the work of God further.

Mission is a powerful, life changing exprerience that I believe everyone should have and am grateful to IMPACT mission Zambia, for allowing me and many others to have our life changing experiences through missions.
